On 6 November 2019, a bilateral workshop was held between the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) and the Fund. The workshop focused on claims that include the deconstruction of vessels as a measure taken in response to actual or anticipated oil pollution damage. The “Guidelines for Claims Involving Vessel Deconstruction” presented here are an adaptation of the document presented to the CCG by the Fund in advance of the November 2019 workshop.

• While the CCG is the primary intended audience of this document, it provides insight into the Administrator’s assessment process that is broadly useful to all claimants.
