We will be attending and presenting at the second Transboundary Oil Spill Liability and Compensation Workshop (TLC) hosted by the United States Coast Guard and our US counterpart, the National Pollution Funds Center from 10 to 12 September 2019 in Portland, Maine. We will use this exercise to strengthen our collaboration with other key players and payers that would be involved in the liability and compensation, in the event of a transboundary oil spill from a ship.

We will discuss challenges and possible solutions to facilitate access to justice and compensation for victims with Canadian and US agencies, as well as our international partners such as the International Group of P&I Clubs, the International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds and the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation Limited.

We hosted the first TLC workshop in Ottawa in 2017 with the same partners. This new edition reflects the strong appetite from all our partners to work together towards the fluid compensation of claims.
