We invite you to visit our booth #903 at the Union of BC Municipalities Tradeshow on September 25 and 26, 2019 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

We will also invite you to participate during our clinic called “Ship-source Oil Pollution: Compensation 101” on Wednesday September 25, from 7:30am to 8:15am:

• How can you get money back for spending related to ships or boats that spill or threaten to spill oil in your community? Using a case study where compensation was paid by the Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund, this session will outline access to justice and describe the compensation process available to responders, and for losses related to the local economy, tourism, fishing.
• We will be joined by:
• Sheila Malcolmson, MLA and Parliamentary Secretary for the Environment,
• Leonard Krog, Mayor of Nanaimo
• Rodney Grounds, Harbour Master of the Nanaimo Port Authority

They will present best practices, programs, and resources aimed at mitigating the impacts of oil spills from all classes of vessel: from abandoned boats to tankers.
